Given by CT-AMC since 1997, the "appie of the YearAward" is awarded to a person who has given extraordinary service to the Chapter over the last five years or so.
Dale Geslien, our 2006 Appie of the Year, began her CT-AMC volunteer career on the Membership Committee making phone calls to new members. She is a hike leader and was instrumental in bringing Fairfield County Group activities “up-country” to Bethel. Dale served as Program Committee Chair, then Chapter Chair for three years, where her focus was on education and leader training. A Leave No Trace Master Educator, Dale is the Chapter’s current Education Committee Chair. At the Club level, she has been involved with Mountain Leadership School, both as a leader and as outreach and publicity coordinator. She serves on the Club’s Outdoor Leadership Development Committee and has recently accepted the position of Regional Director for the Central Region (CT, Berkshire, and Worcester Chapters) on the Club’s Board of Directors.
Congratulations to Dale Geslien, CT-AMC’s 2006 Appie of the Year!
