1. although it is short notice, maybe we should try to get the new Patty Pandergast to our next meeting as a meet & greet & let him/her know that we got his/her back when it comes to ATV(s)

2. hopefully, by the time of the meeting we will have finalized the project whereby sundry enviros in the state can earn a solar panel for Audobon Society by encouraging ( w/ threats of violence if necessary) Nutmeg AMCers to sign-up for Clean Energy, which the bastards should do anyway.

3. Along somewhat the same lines, I'd like to toss out to the committee the idea of committing the CT Chapter of the AMC , pending executive & Joy St. approval, to helping SmartPower & CleanWater Action to promote 20%by2010 Campaign, whereby towns commit to getting 20% of their energy from clean, renewables by 2010. If the town commits to this & 100 residents of that town ( I think) sign-up for clean energy option than the town earns a free solar photovoltaic panel for a school or muni building.

4. We could: send a CAN announcement to AMCers in towns w/ active campaigns ( Guilford, Madison, North Haven, Torrington, Danbury, Bloomfield, Vernon, Enfield, Bristol, & Rocky Hill ) & we could offer to help the aforementioned "lead" organizations by tabling @ town events, supermkts, library, etc...

5. While the " Listening to the River" stuff seems to have been a dud; I did get a possible insight from one of the meetings that I attended. Maybe we could plan a series of Spring hikes in Land Trust lands around the state. A woman @ one of the meetings that I attended was from the Wethersfield Land Trust & she said that one of the ways that they were able to promote land conservation in their town was by having hikes on the preserved land. Seems like a natural fit for AMC, no????

6. What do we as a committee want to do about speakers? Yes/No/ Maybe?

· 8:00 - 8:15: New Business/Round table

· Things we'd like to do…

1. ATV Lobby Day - Planning

2. Social at CFPA, Movie Showing of The Dimming Sun: PBS's NOVA examines new evidence that air pollution has masked the full impact of global warming, suggesting that the world may soon face a heightened climate crisis (Nov/Dec)

3. The Great Warming: Jim has obtained a copy of this movie and is working towards showing it for free at Wesleyan University. Anyone in Committee that wants to can work on organizing a showing in another place. See TheGreatWarming.com for info about the film.

4. Act as a clearinghouse for recycling information; household chemicals, sneakers, etc.

5. Have a cook out a luncheon/social/hike at Hubbard Park, sell tickets for $10.00 (100 tickets) and hope to make $5.00 profit per person. This would get the ball rolling for projects! - Russ

6. Back the CT Fund for the Environment (Broadwater) § Contact is Terri Kinney at 203-787-0646

7. Design & Order AMC Roadside signs (before 10/21)
