East of the River

The East of the River group is a collection of dynamic people who happen to live east of the Connecticut River. The committee sponsors hiking and other outdoor and social activities.

Earn Your EOR Hiker Badge

The new patch has two purposes:

  • First, to publicize and encourage use of lesser known trails in the eastern part of our state
  • Second, to recognize those hikers who have completed all of the designated trails.

The trail list includes trails from the Blue Trail system (CT Walk Book), our CT State Parks, plus some town owned trails, nature conservancy and land trust holdings. In addition, there are some trails from the many area agencies whose trails may be short, but are long on history, scenery, and walking pleasure. Learn more...
