Sunday-Thursday, August 27-31, 2006, Acadia National Park, Road Biking, Downeast and Acadia, ME. Discover beauty of Mt. Desert Island. Bike scenic Park loop, carriage roads. Watch sunrise from Cadillac Mtn. Sightseeing, whale watching, free island shuttle bus. Bar Harbor motel, two per room with private bath, refrigerator, outdoor pool, secure bicycle storage. Bikes with wider tires better for carriage roads. Not for novices. $295 includes four nights lodging, three breakfast buffets, one dinner. Fee non-refundable unless leader finds replacement. Full! - Friday-Sunday, September 15-17, 2006. Upper Connecticut River Valley Biking, Fairlee, VT. Road bike through the upper Connecticut River Valley in Vermont and New Hampshire along gently rolling country roads. Stay at the Hulbert Outdoor Center on beautiful Lake Morey in 3 and 4 bedroom cabins, 2 per room. Bed linens and towel provided. Rides have optional lengths from 20 to 65 miles. Optional Friday ride, “Ride Around Mt. Ascutney,” on the drive up to Fairlee. Cost: $110 includes 2 nights lodging, 2 full breakfasts, Saturday evening dinner. Canceled - Friday, September 15-17. Cardigan Lodge Hiking Weekend. Start the fall hiking season with a New Hampshire weekend at the recently renovated AMC Cardigan Lodge. Intermediate level hikes will include the summit of Mt. Cardigan with its commanding views of west central NH. Feast on the staff's terrific cooking. $110 incl. Friday and Saturday night lodging (four to a room), shared bathrooms, 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts, 2 trail lunches and happy hour snacks.
