Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use the cabin? Anyone using the cabin must have a reservation card on the dashboard of their vehicle and place it on the front window of the cabin. To reserve the cabin, e-mail the Registrar with the dates you would like.
Can I reserve just one bed? No, the cabin with the tent platforms is rented as a single unit to one person or party at a time.
How many can I have at my camp party? Ten is the limit of people allowed per reserved night, six in the cabin (for fire safety) and four on the platform. Committee Cabin Monitors and Ridgerunner check on the cabin regularly.
Can I just walk by and check out the cabin? No, we strongly recommend you allow the reserved party the privacy they deserve.

Is the cabin easy to get to? NW Camp cabin is about a quarter of a mile from the cabin parking area. NW Road is a dirt road (closed to motorized vehicles) that leads to a short trail over a bridge, over a stream, and up a short hill to the cabin. Accessing the NW Camp parking area (located 100 yards south of the MA/CT border) on the west side of Mt Washington Rd in Salisbury, CT can be challenging especially during winter months. All-wheel drive is definitely recommended in the winter and encouraged during the summer months as well. Mt Washington Rd. is a dirt road from the south (Salisbury) that is closed during winter months making the only access from the north (MT Washington Rd leading to Mt Washington, MA.). Please refer to the Registrar for more updated information on access.
I enjoyed my stay at NW Camp so much and I want to give back. How can I help? The NW Camp Committee has annual work parties twice a year, on the first Saturday in May and on the first Saturday in November. E-mail for more info. The Committee recently posted a wish list on this webpage. This is a way to encourage giving to tangible causes to help improve camp life at NW Camp. If you like to see where your money goes, donating to the Wish List could be for you! The AMC NWC Committee is deeply appreciative of those who can and do give extra support to the NWC Camp community with generous gifts of time, money, or goods.
See the Brochure and Wish List on this webpage for more detailed information.
