AMC NW Camp Committee Reopening Information
Dear Potential Renter,
We understand you have expressed an interest in renting AMC Northwest Camp (NW Camp) at 99 Mt Washington Rd., Salisbury, CT
The purpose of this document is to provide a reopening protocol for renters of AMC NW Camp based on current government and AMC guidelines as of May 19, 2021. Those that are considering renting must read and agree to the following before officially registering.
- The NW Camp will be available daily to registered campers as of May 20, 2021.
- A maximum of ten registered campers per calendar night allowed on the premises. The cabin capacity is 6 people per night.
- Renters are required to update themselves on the latest Connecticut travel restrictions. It is the responsibility of the renter to know when travel is safe.
- Bring a suitable trash bag. Leave no trace, especially trash. Pack out what you pack in.
- NW Camp encourages all renters to follow basic COVID precautions, including physically distancing and masking when recommended by the CDC.
- NW Camp recommends opening windows upon arrival to increase ventilation in the cabin. We also encourage you to enjoy the outdoor picnic table(s) and campfire seating during your stay when weather permits
- Renters should follow government guidelines and self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and must notify Registrar Craig Kennedy or Caretaker Don Klein after each stay of health conditions and conditions of cabin. Questions during stay? Contact Caretaker, Don Klein at 860-792-1727 and leave message.
- Before settling in cabin and just before leaving, renters are required to disinfect all touchable surfaces in cabin and outhouses. “Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray” that states “Kills 99.99% of bacteria and viruses shall be the preferred disinfectant.
- The combination to the cabin lock will be provided to renters by the Registrar during the registration process. The key to both outhouses hangs on hook near table.
- Two Registration cards will be provided to registered renter by Registrar, one to be placed on dashboard and the other to be attached to acrylic sleeve inside front window of cabin. Registered renters can park overnight in NW Camp parking area on Mt. Washington Road, but must not block gate.
- The outhouse and moldering privy must remain locked when not in use.
- Renters must clean and lock cabin upon departure.
The reopening protocol and operating procedures above will be updated accordingly.

| There is a limit of two weekends per member with a third weekend possible if the renter attends one of two work parties in the spring or fall. The weekends are listed in the AMC activity listing system when the dates are finalized. | |
| Holiday Weekend Rates Apply | Presidents Day: Weekend of 3rd Monday in Feb; Good Friday/Easter: varies; Memorial Day: Weekend of last Monday in May; Independence Day: July 4th and adjacent weekend; Labor Day: Weekend of 1st Monday in Sept.; Columbus Day: Weekend of 2nd Monday of Oct, Thanksgiving: 4th Thursday in Nov. thru following weekend; Christmas: Dec 24 & 25 and adjacent weekend, New Years: Dec 31 & Jan 1 and adjacent weekend. Adjacent weekend is when the holiday date falls on a Friday or Monday. |
