Northwest Camp is a small, rustic cabin located on the northwest slope of Bear Mountain in Salisbury, CT. The cabin and surrounding land is owned by the Appalachian Mountain Club. Available for use year round by reservation only, NW Camp is managed and maintained entirely by volunteers.

Please be considerate of others reserving the cabin and do not go and visit the cabin without a reservation. “Ridgerunners and Cabin Monitors will politely remind you to turn around and not to rely on trail apps that promote misinformation”.

Northwest Camp Wish List

The AMC Northwest Camp Committee Wish List is a way to encourage giving to tangible causes to help improve camp life. If you like to see where your money goes, donating to the Wish List could be for you!

All contributions are tax-deductible. All donors are recognized on the CT Chapter NWC website, or you can choose to remain anonymous. You do not have to fund an entire item.

The AMC NWC Committee is deeply appreciative of those who can and do give extra support to the NWC Camp community with generous gifts of time, money, or goods.

2023 Wish List Items

  1. Funds for Biocontrol to exterminate Hemlock Wooly Adelgid
  2. Furniture repair and replacement fund – New Interior Table and Benches
  3. The hiring of Cleaning Service once or twice a year
  4. Replace wonderboard behind woodstove with brick
  5. Rebuild front deck

If you have questions about the Wish List, you can reach us at   Checks should be made out to “Appalachian Mountain Club” and should include a letter stating the donor’s intent. “Northwest Camp” should be written in the memo section of the check.
